Valve’s popular Steam Deck is getting a new look. After launching the original model in 2021 and an OLED version last year, both in black, Valve is now introducing a limited-edition white Steam Deck OLED.
The white Steam Deck OLED will be available worldwide on November 18th. It will come with 1 TB of storage and cost $679, a $30 premium over the standard 1TB OLED model.
The new white model features a sleek white polycarbonate shell with grey buttons and triggers. It also has an eye-catching orange power button. To complete the package, Valve includes a matching white carrying case and a white microfiber cleaning cloth.
Valve has warned that the white Steam Deck OLED will be available in limited quantities. The company will allocate stock to different regions based on demand. To purchase the device, you’ll need an active Steam account with at least one purchase made before November 2024.
As a limited-edition release, Valve will restrict purchases to one unit per account. Once the stock is depleted, there will be no restock.
In related news, its rival console Nintendo Switch is about to get a successor in 2025. The Japanese gaming giant has confirmed that it plans to launch the updated console in early 2025. Until then, Nintendo is working on remastered titles for the existing Switch console.
These remastered titles will include both first-party and third-party games as per reports, which are meant to provide more playtime to those that will not immediately upgrade to Switch 2.
