India’s T20I captain Suryakumar Yadav has found himself caught in the crossfire of fan queries about the India-Pakistan standoff over the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy.

While interacting with fans in South Africa, where he’s currently leading his team in a competitive T20 series, Suryakumar Yadav was asked by a fan about India’s decision not to travel to Pakistan for the tournament.

Responding with a light-hearted smile, Suryakumar replied, “Brother, it is not in our hands,” gently reminding fans that such decisions lie beyond the players’ control.

India’s official decision, relayed by the ICC to the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), has sent ripples through the cricketing world, with speculation that Pakistan may even withdraw from the tournament if a resolution is not reached.

The PCB has already ruled out a proposed hybrid model, which would allow India to play their matches at a neutral venue, such as the UAE or Sri Lanka.

According to sources, the Pakistani government is reportedly considering advising the PCB to take an even stronger stance if a compromise cannot be brokered, with one option on the table being a complete withdrawal from the tournament.

Meanwhile, Suryakumar is fully focused on the field, leading India in an intense four-match T20 series against South Africa. With the series currently tied 1-1, both teams are gearing up for a crucial third match in Centurion, with the stakes high as the series intensifies.
