WhatsApp Will Remind You of Messages You Didn’t Send

This week, WhatsApp introduced a long-awaited feature: message drafts. The new update alerts you of unfinished messages, ensuring important replies aren’t forgotten.

A bold green “Draft” label with the message preview now appears in chats with unsent text. This reminder helps you quickly locate and complete started messages upon opening the app unless you ignore them on purpose.

Unfinished messages, marked as drafts, now appear at the top of the WhatsApp chat list for easy access. This eliminates the need to scroll through conversations to find unsent replies. According to Engadget, the feature has been rolled out globally.

WhatsApp, which announced 100 million monthly active users in July, has recently introduced several other enhancements. These include an integrated address book and customizable lists for organizing chats.

WhatsApp is working on several other features as always, most of which have been spotted in the latest beta version of the app courtesy of WABetaInfo. At the moment, the developers are working on a gallery shortcut for the chat interface in the text box, a redesigned interface for the communities tab, captions for GIFs, and new themed icons for contacts and group chats.

Additional new features include a new clarification option that shows how muting works for group chats, limiting notifications to mentions only. A new gallery interface for photo and video albums is also coming alongside chat filters for the web client, sticker prompts through status updates, and more.
