Punjab University has postponed its mid-term examinations by another week, as confirmed in a notification issued by university officials. The exams, which were set to begin on November 25, have now been rescheduled.
The university spokesperson stated that while exams have been delayed, classes will continue as planned. Heads of Departments (HoDs) are expected to ensure that lectures proceed in their respective departments, whether online, in person, or through a hybrid approach.
This marks the second consecutive week of exam postponements. Last week, Punjab University delayed its examinations and transitioned classes online due to heavy smog affecting the province. Staff members were directed to work remotely, and all meetings were conducted virtually as a precaution.
In a separate development, educational institutions in Islamabad and Rawalpindi will remain closed on Monday due to the ongoing Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) protest.
The Islamabad Private Schools Association announced the decision, citing safety concerns amid the protests. The Islamabad district administration is also expected to issue an official notification confirming the closure of schools and colleges across the federal capital.
These closures are part of precautionary measures to ensure the safety of students and staff in both cities. Authorities are monitoring the situation closely to determine the next course of action.
