Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) has another crisis on its hands with reports suggesting that Pakistani teams on several levels have not been paid their match fees.
A staggering amount of approximately Rs70 million in unpaid match fees for Pakistan’s national football teams—including senior men’s and women’s squads, as well as U-19, U-17, and U-16 teams—remains unresolved, leaving players and officials in distress.
Despite repeated appeals to the FIFA-appointed Normalisation Committee (NC), the players claim no concrete steps have been taken to address the issue. Frustrated by the delay, many players have resorted to visiting the Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) offices daily in hopes of securing their dues.
The national U-19 team, which represented Pakistan in the SAFF Championship, is also yet to receive payments for both the tournament and the preceding training camp. The total amount owed to players, coaches, and staff is reported to be around Rs10 million.
The senior men’s team, which participated in various friendly matches abroad and the SAFF Championship, is awaiting payments estimated at Rs 20-25 million. Meanwhile, the U-17 and U-16 teams, along with the national women’s team, who also competed in international tournaments, have yet to receive their match fees.
This widespread delay in match fee payments to Pakistani teams highlights the financial and administrative challenges facing Pakistan football, leaving players and officials frustrated and seeking urgent resolution.
It comes at a crucial time when PFF is already battling the Pakistan Sports Board on legal fronts which is likely to drag the payment issues even further.
