A motorcyclist in Lahore has accumulated fines totaling Rs. 55,200 for repeated traffic violations, an amount nearly equal to the value of his motorcycle. The individual continued to flout traffic regulations, resulting in a series of e-challans generated by the city’s Safe City camera system.
The fines stem from multiple infractions, including 24 instances of not wearing a helmet, each carrying a fine of Rs. 2,000. Additionally, the motorcyclist was penalized for nine violations related to lane lines, stop signs and signal infringements.
Lahore’s Chief Traffic Officer confirmed that e-challans are issued for several traffic offenses, including the 19 violations recorded by the city’s AI-powered enforcement system. The system helps authorities enforce traffic laws with greater precision, ensuring action is taken swiftly and fairly across all violations.
The Safe City initiative, which integrates cutting-edge technology, is also connected to Police Khidmat Markaz and Driving License Issuance Management Systems, streamlining traffic law enforcement and ensuring better compliance across the city.

donkeys guiding donkey traffic system.
That tine is somehow justified.
Meanwhile…. AI doing it’s job perfectly :-)
What I face in Islamabad >
Extreme exposure of car on U-turns to the traffic flow interruption seems like one is going to hit my car, giving a side push to car, using extreme horns and light flash all are Lahore number plates.
Wild driving and traffic habits with Lhr registered cars
Bike riders are reckless, lawless no rear view mirrors, broken rwgistration plates they have no respect for one way, red signal or otger road users they enter where they like, they speed (including lady bike riders) ready to fight and gatger on every accident to create pressure on others food delivery men are top on list of violaters, tgey all need to be disciplined to ride on extreme left lane only and not to use vehicle lanes to avoid accident and conflict
That system is bugged and there is no obvious way to compete or tell the system is wrong. I experienced it first hand.
AI program should learn at least not to add repeat Challans if a motorcyclist is not wearing a helmet for a couple of days. So that he may get time to buy a helmet after receiving the challan. Rather receiving a BIG list of Challans when he has no time to get things fix.
Law should be the same whether rich or poor.
