Honor has officially unveiled its latest smartphone lineup with the launch of the Honor 300 series including the 300, 300 Pro, and 300 Ultra, each designed to cater to different needs while focusing on delivering exceptional portrait photography experiences.
These new devices feature cutting-edge technology and premium design elements, making them strong contenders in the competitive mid-range segment. We will be covering the Honor 300 and 300 Pro in this article, while the Ultra will get a separate story.
Design and Display
The Honor 300 series, which includes the Honor 300, 300 Pro, and 300 Ultra, is designed with a focus on premium features and usability. The Honor 300 Pro features a sleek 6.78-inch OLED display, offering a vibrant and sharp visual experience.
The display supports a 120Hz refresh rate for smooth scrolling and interactions, and it can achieve a peak brightness of up to 4,000 nits, ensuring excellent visibility even under direct sunlight. The Honor 300, while slightly downgraded, still offers a similar large 6.7-inch OLED display for immersive viewing.
Both phones have under-display optical fingerprint sensors and IP65 dust and water protection.
Internals and Software
Last year’s flagship chipset Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 is under the Honor 300 Pro’s hood, ensuring top-tier performance for multitasking, gaming, and other high-end tasks. It comes with 12 GB or 16 GB of RAM and storage options of 256 GB or 512 GB.
The Honor 300, however, features the less powerful Snapdragon 7 Gen 3, but it still delivers stable performance, and it comes with 8 GB, 12 GB, or 16 GB of RAM, and the same storage options. Both devices run MagicOS 9.0, based on Android 15, with enhanced AI features for imaging, productivity, and daily use.
Camera
One of the standout features of the Honor 300 series is its camera system, especially the focus on portrait photography. The selfie camera across all models captures sharp and detailed selfies with its 50MP f/2.1 lens, making it an ideal choice for vloggers and social media enthusiasts.
The Honor 300 Pro takes it a step further with a rear setup that includes a 50MP main camera with a large 1/1.56” sensor, a 50MP 3x telephoto camera, and a 12MP ultrawide camera with autofocus. This triple-camera array is powered by the Sony IMX856 sensor. The Honor 300, lacks the telephoto lens but still has the 50MP main and selfie cameras and a 12MP ultrawide.
Battery and Pricing
Both the Honor 300 and 300 Pro sport a 5,300 mAh battery. The 300 Pro offers fast charging with 100W wired and 80W wireless charging support, ensuring quick top-ups when needed. The Honor 300, however, only supports 100W wired charging.
The Honor 300 starts at €326, while the Honor 300 Pro is priced at €520. Both models are available in multiple colors and come with a range of gifts, including the Honor Buds A, a tote bag, a thermos, a scarf, and more, adding value for buyers. But these goodies might just remain limited to China models.
