Karachi experienced a worrying number of traffic accidents in 2024, resulting in the loss of 715 lives. According to rescue sources, the fatalities included 562 men, 80 women, and 73 children. Alongside these deaths, 7,621 people were injured in these accidents, including 6,290 men, 994 women, and several children.
While the number of fatalities showed a slight decrease compared to 801 in 2023, the number of injuries rose sharply from 6,545 last year. This alarming rise in injuries highlights the growing risk of accidents on Karachi’s roads.
The increasing figures emphasize the urgent need for authorities to implement effective measures to improve road safety. Better traffic management, stricter enforcement of traffic laws, and public awareness campaigns are critical to reducing accidents and saving lives.
