Thick fog has disrupted road travel in several parts of Punjab, forcing authorities to close Motorway M-2 between Babu Sabu Interchange and Thokar Niaz Baig for all kinds of traffic. The closure, announced by the Motorway Police, is due to extremely low visibility, posing significant risks to commuters’ safety.
Motorway Police have advised citizens to avoid traveling during the early hours and prioritize journeys between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. when visibility improves. Drivers are urged to use both the front and back lights of their vehicles while driving in foggy conditions and maintain a safe distance from other vehicles to prevent accidents.
Authorities emphasized the importance of following safety guidelines and exercising caution on highways. Citizens are encouraged to avoid unnecessary travel and contact the Motorway Police Helpline at 130 for assistance or guidance during emergencies.
