Islamabad’s Jinnah Avenue Underpass to Open on December 25

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has confirmed that the Jinnah Avenue underpass will be operational for traffic by December 25. The announcement was made during his visit to inspect progress at the F-8 Exchange Chowk Interchange and the Serena Chowk Interchange, according to a press release from the interior ministry.

The minister praised the swift completion of the underpass, which was finalized in just 43 days. He also stated that the F-8 Exchange Chowk Interchange, which includes a flyover and connecting loops, is expected to be inaugurated in the second week of February, well within the 100-day deadline set by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and himself.

The Capital Development Authority (CDA) officials assured that the underpass would meet the tight deadline, while the flyover is also on track for early completion.

During his visit to the Serena Interchange project, the minister announced that it would be inaugurated in the first week of January. The project, completed in just 60 days, is aimed at enhancing traffic management in the capital.

Minister Naqvi commended the workers, contractors, and CDA officials at both sites, urging them to maintain their dedication and commitment. He highlighted that these initiatives aim to provide state-of-the-art infrastructure and significantly improve traffic flow in Islamabad.

CDA Chairman Mohammad Ali Randhawa briefed the minister on the progress of the projects, alongside other senior officials and contractors. The minister emphasized the importance of ensuring timely delivery and high-quality standards for these mega infrastructure projects.
