BYD Dolphin Facelift Unveiled With New Motor Options in China

The updated BYD Dolphin, featuring a facelift with minor design changes and a new 174 hp electric motor option has been revealed in China.

The 2025 model, already on the market, is priced between 99,800 and 129,800 yuan (approximately $13,700 to $17,900). BYD Dolphin has been a popular choice, with November sales reaching 21,712 units and a cumulative 2024 sales figure of 176,560 units.

The updated design includes a revised lower front fascia and adjustments to the rear, replacing the “Build Your Dream” logo on the taillight with the “BYD” logo. The vehicle’s overall dimensions are slightly larger, measuring 4,280 mm in length, 1,770 mm in width, and 1,570 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,700 mm—155 mm longer than the current model.

Tire options include 195/60R16 and 205/50R17.

The new Dolphin offers three motor options:

  • Model TZ180XSF: 94 hp
  • Model TZ200XSW: 174 hp
  • Model TZ200XSQ: 201 hp

All trims utilize BYD’s Blade LFP battery packs, with top speeds of 150 km/h or 160 km/h, depending on the configuration. Optional features include a panoramic sunroof, multiple radar systems, various camera setups, a black roof, rear privacy glass, a high-gloss finish, and customizable rim designs.

For reference, the 2025 BYD Dolphin comes in two power trims. The lower-powered trim features a 94 hp motor with a 44.928 kWh battery, offering a 420 km range. The high-powered trim has a 201 hp motor with a 60.48 kWh battery, delivering a range of 520 km.
