Pakistan fast bowler Haris Rauf acknowledged the high-scoring nature of South African pitches and pledged that the bowling unit will work hard to keep the opposition’s total in check. Speaking at a press conference in Johannesburg, Haris Rauf noted that Pakistan learned valuable lessons from their mistakes in the opening match and now aim to improve their overall performance.
“Today’s game is vital for the series,” Rauf said. “We’ll give it our all to secure a win and deliver our best showing.”
Commenting on the pitches, he added, “The conditions here favour high totals. As a bowling group, we need to minimize runs and maintain tight control over the scoring.”
Haris Rauf also took a moment to express gratitude after earning the ICC Player of the Month award. “I thank Allah for this honor,” he said. “Receiving the ICC Player of the Month award motivates me to continue improving and performing for my team.”
Pakistan will be hoping that Haris Rauf and his teammates can replicate the form they showed against Australia in a must-win game against the Proteas in the second T20I tonight. Haris himself would be looking for an improvement after conceding 41 runs in the opening game, a far cry from his domination Down Under.
The T20I series will be followed by 3 ODIs and 3 Tests with Haris a key deciding factor in each of those games.
