Inter-Provincial Games Day 3: Punjab Continues Ascent on Medal Table

Punjab continued their dominance on day 3 of the Quaid-e-Azam Inter-Provincial Games at the Jinnah Stadium, Pakistan Sports Complex, leading the medal table with an impressive total of 77 medals.

Punjab’s Muhammad Yahya secured gold in the +96kg weightlifting event, cementing Punjab’s top position. He was followed by:

  • Silver: Israr Ali Soomro (Sindh)
  • Bronze: Bilawal Asghar (Azad Jammu & Kashmir)

Mohammad Ali Akbar (81kg) , Mudabir Zeshan (89kg) and Haider Shakeel Butt (96kg) all secured gold medals in their respective weight categories.

In men’s karate the results were as following:

  • -75kg Gold: Mir Hamza Kasi (Balochistan)
  • -67kg Gold: Sujal (Punjab)
  • -60kg Gold: Talha Rafiq (Sindh)
  • -55kg Gold: Mohammad Abrar (KP)

In women’s karate:

  • -61kg Gold: Hamna Qamar (Punjab)
  • -55kg Gold: Maham Batool (Punjab)
  • -50kg Gold: Nabihah Jamal (Sindh)

Azad Jammu and Kashmir secured their first gold medal through Najmul Huda in the women’s discus throw event on Sunday. Najmul’s throw of 26.88m earned her the top spot, followed by:

  • Silver: Manali Bibi (KP) – 25.41m
  • Bronze: Aiman Shahzad (KP) – 23.11m

The Quaid-e-Azam Inter-Provincial Games, featuring 15 disciplines, will conclude on December 19. Punjab remains in a strong position to dominate the medal tally as the competition reaches its final stages.
