Punjab Gets Back to 42-Day Waiting Period for Motorcycle Licences

The Punjab Traffic Police have reinstated the 42-day waiting period for motorcyclists applying for a permanent driving license. This decision comes after the temporary relief period ended on December 15. Previously, motorcyclists were allowed to apply for a permanent license immediately after obtaining a learner permit.

Additional IG Traffic Mirza Faran Baig announced that strict enforcement of traffic regulations will begin, with no leniency for those driving without a valid license. He emphasized that road safety is a top priority and urged motorcyclists to comply with the rules.

The temporary relaxation, granted for 42 days, saw a significant rise in license issuance. According to the Punjab Traffic Police, over 841,000 licenses were issued in November alone. This figure included learner permits, fresh licenses, renewals, and international driving licenses. Licensing centers across Punjab played a crucial role by remaining operational 24/7 to meet the growing demand.

With the waiting period back in place, learner permit holders must wait 42 days before appearing for the driving test. The Punjab Traffic Police believes this step will ensure proper training and testing for motorcyclists, contributing to safer roads across the province.

  • With one year of minimum validity and no test at all the license become a pice of advance bail to kill someone rather than safety and revenue making card.
