Honor has officially launched its Honor GT, entering the gaming smartphone segment. The phone is designed to deliver flagship-level performance and combines impressive hardware, a vibrant display, and AI-driven features. Focusing on gamers and power users, the Honor GT blends aesthetics with practical functionality, promising a strong contender in the growing gaming smartphone category.
The Honor GT features a sleek, lightweight build, measuring 161mm x 74.2mm x 7.7mm and weighing just 196g. Its flat design with rounded corners gives the phone a modern and practical appearance, while the rectangular rear camera island houses two lenses, an LED flash, and bold “GT” branding that reinforces its gaming focus.
Moreover, the device boasts a 6.7-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and a 2664 x 1200 FHD+ resolution. The screen supports 1.07 billion colors and the DCI-P3 color gamut. With up to 4000 nits local peak brightness and 1200 nits global peak brightness, the display remains highly visible even in bright outdoor conditions. Honor also prioritizes user comfort by integrating eye-protection features such as 3840Hz PWM dimming, low blue light technology, and adaptive dimming, which reduce strain during extended use.
At the core of the Honor GT lies the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, which ensures smooth performance for demanding tasks like gaming and multitasking. The phone also comes with up to 16GB LPDDR5X RAM and 1TB UFS 4.0 storage, providing ample power and capacity for heavy users. To maintain peak performance during long gaming sessions, Honor includes a “3D Natural Circulation Cooling System”, which effectively manages heat.
The device runs on MagicOS 9.0, based on Android 15, offering a refined and AI-enhanced user experience. Honor has incorporated features such as the YOYO Intelligent Body, which provides personalized recommendations, and the Glory Phantom Engine, which enhances AI rendering, display efficiency, and overall performance. Additional features include AI face recognition, smart multi-window for multitasking, and multi-screen collaboration for improved productivity.
The Honor GT features a dual-camera setup on the back, consisting of a 50MP wide-angle camera with optical image stabilization (OIS) and also a 12MP ultra-wide macro lens with autofocus. The rear cameras support video recording at up to 4K resolution, along with modes like AI photography, night mode, portrait mode, slow motion, and time-lapse.
However, for selfies and video calls, the device includes a 16MP front-facing wide-angle camera that supports 1080p video recording with electronic image stabilization (EIS).
Powering the Honor GT is a robust 5300mAh battery, which supports 100W Super Fast Charging. This allows users to recharge the device quickly, minimizing downtime during extended gaming or usage sessions. The phone also supports dual 5G connectivity, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.3, and NFC, and features a USB Type-C port for charging and audio. Additional highlights include stereo speakers for immersive sound, an X-axis linear motor for precise haptics, and an infrared remote control for added versatility.
The Honor GT is available in three colors: Phantom Black, Ice Crystal White, and Aurora Green. The base model with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage is priced at 2,199 yuan (approximately USD 301), while the higher-end 16GB RAM and 1TB storage variant costs 3,299 yuan (around USD 452). Other configurations, including 512GB storage options, are also available. The phone is currently up for pre-order in China and will officially go on sale starting December 24th.
