Someone has leaked live photos of the Samsung Galaxy S25+, sparking speculation about a notable design feature. A slightly recessed area below the side buttons has caught attention, with some suggesting it could be a Camera Control button, akin to the small touchpad introduced on the latest iPhones. However, a more practical explanation has surfaced. The original post from X has been removed, but the leak appears to be legitimate considering the model number shown in the images.
The recessed section is most likely the mmWave 5G antenna, as the model number SM-S936U indicates this is a US device version. Similar to the SM-S926U (Galaxy S24+), this model would require the antenna to support the high-speed mmWave 5G network in the United States. Manufacturers typically place these antennas in this position to make the design functional.
Beyond this detail, the overall design of the Galaxy S25+ appears to remain largely consistent with its predecessor. Unlike the S25 Ultra, which is rumored to have larger, more prominent rings around its camera lenses, the Galaxy S25+ seems to maintain the simpler design of the S24 series. Leaks also suggest that the vanilla Galaxy S25 and S25+ will not receive significant camera upgrades.
Samsung will likely stick to its traditional timeline and unveil the Galaxy S25 series in January 2025. As the launch date nears, more details about the devices’ features, designs, and potential improvements will emerge.
