Islamabad Citizens Wake Up to Another Freezing Morning

The Meteorological Department reported freezing conditions across various parts of Pakistan on December 21, 2024. Islamabad recorded a minimum temperature of 0°C, marking a particularly cold day in the federal capital.

The plummeting temperature has left residents layering up to brace for the icy conditions, with the Meteorological Department predicting continued cold weather in the coming days.

Across the country, several regions experienced sub-zero temperatures, with Leh emerging as the coldest location at -13°C. Skardu followed closely with -11°C, while Gupis recorded -9°C. Gilgit and Baramulla faced chilling temperatures of -8°C, and Peshawar dropped to -1°C.

In major cities, Karachi recorded a minimum of 9°C, Lahore stood at 4°C, and Quetta experienced a frosty -5°C. Muzaffarabad also reported 0°C, matching Islamabad’s low.

The weather department has urged residents, especially in colder regions, to take precautions against the dropping temperatures, as freezing nights are expected to continue in the coming days.
