Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah conducted an unannounced morning inspection of the Malir Expressway’s nine-kilometer section between Jam Sadiq Bridge and Shah Faisal Interchange. Traveling without protocol, he emphasized the urgency of completing the project by December 30 to make it operational for traffic.
During the inspection, CM Shah addressed officials, including the Karachi Commissioner, DIG Police, and DMC representatives, issuing a strict warning regarding encroachments along the expressway. “The project must be completed by the end of December,” he directed Engineer Khalid Mansoor, instructing him to accelerate construction efforts.
He also highlighted the need to clear all illegal structures and parking from the Shah Faisal Interchange to Karachi Airport, ensuring seamless traffic flow. Shah underscored the expressway’s significance, noting that it would reduce travel time between Jam Sadiq Bridge and Jinnah Terminal via the Shah Faisal Interchange to just 15 minutes, greatly benefiting commuters.
The chief minister reaffirmed his commitment to removing encroachments along the expressway route, stressing the importance of the project in improving Karachi’s infrastructure and easing travel for its residents. With the December deadline approaching, efforts are being intensified to meet the completion target.
