Eco-Friendly EVs Planned for Saddar’s Busy Streets

The Rawalpindi Cantonment Board (RCB) has unveiled plans to introduce battery-powered tourist vehicles in Saddar Bazaar to provide greater convenience for families and shoppers while fostering an eco-friendly atmosphere in the bustling commercial hub.

The initiative aims to minimize the use of petrol and diesel vehicles, including motorcycles, to reduce pollution and improve the overall visitor experience. To move forward with this project, RCB has invited tenders for the purchase of these environmentally friendly vehicles. Submissions are open until January 2, with bids set to be reviewed and opened on January 6. Work orders will be issued to the successful bidders by January 10, and the contract will be awarded to the company offering the lowest bid.

Calling the initiative a “significant eco-friendly project,” the Chief Executive Officer of RCB emphasized the board’s dedication to promoting sustainable urban development and innovative solutions for the city.

  • They should rather introduce only walking and bicycle in busy congested streets of Sadder and avoid electric carts. Every where in the world all busy streets are for pedestrians only , I have travelled almost all continents and have seen same may it be Shinghai, Istanbul, Dusseldorf, London, Lisbon and so on. Pakistani should walk and adopt a more active life style
