Former England cricketer and PSL veteran Dawid Malan has officially thrown his hat into the ring for the Pakistan Super League (PSL) Season 10 player draft. The experienced batter, who previously represented Multan Sultans, will be among the marquee names available in the draft scheduled for January 11, 2025, in Gwadar.
Malan’s PSL journey began with Peshawar Zalmi, where he played for three seasons before moving to Islamabad United. In the 2024 season, he featured for Multan Sultans, contributing to their strong campaign that saw them finish as runners-up.
Over the years, Malan has established himself as a key player in the league. Across 25 PSL matches, the 37-year-old has amassed 631 runs at an average of 28.68 and a strike rate of 122.28.
Malan is the sixth overseas player confirmed for PSL Season 10, joining an impressive roster of international stars. The list so far includes Zimbabwe’s Sikandar Raza, England’s Jason Roy and David Willey, Australia’s Usman Khawaja, and Bangladesh’s Mustafizur Rahman.
The pick order for the much-awaited draft has already been announced. Two-time champions Lahore Qalandars will have the first pick in the opening round of the platinum category, followed by their fierce rivals, Karachi Kings. The 2019 champions Quetta Gladiators are set to make the third pick, while Peshawar Zalmi will have the fourth. Last season’s runners-up, Multan Sultans, and reigning champions, Islamabad United, will complete the first round with the fifth and sixth picks, respectively.
With Dawid Malan’s signing and the draft preparations underway, the excitement for PSL 10 continues to build. The league, known for unearthing local talent and attracting global cricketing superstars, promises another season of thrilling action and intense rivalries.
