Senate IT Committee to Convene on January 2 to Address Internet and VPN Issues

The Chairman of the Standing Committee on Information Technology Syed Aminul Haque has scheduled a meeting on January 2, 2025, to address pressing issues related to internet services and registration of virtual private networks (VPNs) in Pakistan.

The meeting will include a comprehensive briefing from the Secretary of IT and the Chairman of the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA).

Among the key agenda items is a discussion on the Digital Pakistan Bill, which faced reservations from committee members during the previous session. The meeting will also evaluate the issuance of long-distance international licenses by PTA and examine the performance of the IT Ministry and related institutions.
