On Tuesday, a water pipe burst at Karachi’s Jinnah International Airport, flooding the international departure lounge. Water accumulated near the immigration counters, inconveniencing passengers and staff.
An airport authority spokesperson reported that immediate measures were taken to locate the damaged pipe and isolate the affected area by turning off the isolation valve for the western section. Staff quickly used buckets and mops to remove the water and prevent it from spreading.
Despite the disruption, airport operations continued without any major interruptions. Passenger movement remained unaffected as technical teams worked to repair the damage. The issue of water dripping in the domestic arrivals lounge was also swiftly addressed.
