Fakhar Zaman Predicts Semi-Finalists for Champions Trophy 2025

As the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 approaches, Pakistan batter Fakhar Zaman has revealed his predictions for the tournament’s semi-finalists. The competition, now confirmed to take place across Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates (UAE), will feature eight teams battling it out in the 50-over format.

After months of uncertainty, the International Cricket Council (ICC) announced that Pakistan and the UAE would host the prestigious event. The tournament will consist of 15 matches, with group-stage fixtures hosted in Karachi, Lahore, and Rawalpindi, while Dubai will stage the knockout rounds.

India’s matches have been moved to Dubai due to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI)’s decision not to send their team to Pakistan, citing security concerns. If India qualifies for the final, the match will also be held in Dubai, with reserve days in place for both the semi-finals and the final to prevent disruptions due to weather.

The eight participating teams are split into two groups:

  • Group A: Pakistan, India, New Zealand, Bangladesh
  • Group B: Australia, England, South Africa, Afghanistan

Fakhar Zaman’s Semi-Final Predictions

Speaking on Basit Ali’s social media channel, Fakhar Zaman shared his confidence in subcontinental teams dominating the tournament and making the semi-finals of the 2025 Champions Trophy. The left-hander included South Africa in his list of teams as well, favouring the Proteas over England, Australia, and New Zealand.

“Pakistan, India, Afghanistan, and South Africa are the teams I believe will reach the semi-finals,” Fakhar remarked.

As the 2025 edition approaches, it remains to be seen whether the 2017 hero will don the cape once again or watch from the sidelines as the fierce competition kicks off.
