Pakistan and Bangladesh Enhance Educational Cooperation With Launch of Fellowship Program

The Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Ministerial Standing Committee on Scientific and Technological Cooperation (Comstech) and the University of Lahore have launched a joint fellowship program to promote academic collaboration between Pakistan and Bangladesh.

In a statement issued by Comstech, the initiative was described as a shared effort to nurture talent, foster innovation, and enhance academic exchange among OIC member states.

The program aims to provide Bangladeshi students and researchers with opportunities for higher education and advanced research in diverse fields such as allied health sciences, engineering and technology, pharmacy, management sciences, social sciences, and humanities. It will also offer technical training for science, technology, and engineering lab staff.

Prof. Mohammad Iqbal Choudhary, Comstech Coordinator General, emphasized the program’s importance: “This fellowship program demonstrates our commitment to bridging educational and research gaps across the Muslim world. By supporting Bangladeshi scholars and students, we aim to cultivate future innovators and leaders who can address modern challenges.”

The fellowship underscores Comstech and the University of Lahore’s shared commitment to advancing education and professional development across the Muslim world. It is open to Bangladeshi nationals aged 22 to 45, residing in any country, with outstanding academic achievements and a strong dedication to community service.

The fellowship covers tuition, round-trip airfare, a stipend, and free accommodation. Eligible candidates can apply through the official websites of Comstech and the University of Lahore until March 1, 2025.
