Xiaomi Mix Flip 2 to Bring Several Upgrades Over Previous Model

Xiaomi’s entry into the flip-style foldable smartphone market has achieved notable success, which has prompted the company to accelerate the launch of its successor, the Mix Flip 2. The upcoming Flip 2 is set to deliver numerous enhancements, establishing itself as a significant upgrade.

The new model is projected to feature a battery capacity between 5,600 mAh and 5,700 mAh, a noteworthy increase from the original Mix Flip’s 4,780 mAh cell. This substantial boost likely comes from silicon carbon technology that is being used in all modern smartphones to boost capacity.

Design Updates

Xiaomi seems to be focused on making the Flip 2 a more refined device in terms of ergonomics. According to leaks, the Mix Flip 2 will be both thinner and lighter than the original model. For reference, the Mix Flip measured 7.6mm in thickness when unfolded and 16mm when folded, with a weight of 190g or 192g, depending on the version. A reduction in size and weight could make the Mix Flip 2 more portable and comfortable for everyday use.

Global Availability

The original Mix Flip was available globally, not limited to the Chinese market, and it seems the same will apply to its successor. With a growing interest in foldable devices, a global launch will likely help Xiaomi strengthen its position in this competitive segment.

While details about the Mix Flip 2’s other specifications, features, and pricing are still under wraps, early rumors suggest that it is shaping up to be a well-rounded sequel. As we await more information, it’s clear that Xiaomi aims to build upon the success of the Mix Flip and deliver a device that appeals to an even wider audience.
