Gough’s appointment comes after his successful stint with the Qalandars during last year’s Global Super League, where he guided the team to the finals. His return to the franchise is seen as a strategic move to build on that momentum and bring his expertise to Pakistan’s premier T20 competition.

Speaking about his new role, Gough expressed his excitement about returning to the Lahore Qalandars and the PSL. “The PSL offers an exceptional platform with considerable talent in the Qalandars roster,” Gough said. “We aim to deliver competitive cricket this season with the support of our fan base.”

Gough’s familiarity with the Qalandars’ culture and players, gained during his time in the Global Super League, is expected to be a significant advantage. His ability to connect with players and foster a winning mentality will be crucial as the team prepares for the upcoming season.

Lahore Qalandars Team Director Sameen Rana highlighted Gough’s previous success with the franchise as a key factor in his appointment. “His contributions during the Global Super League demonstrated his understanding of the team’s culture,” Rana said. “We are confident that his leadership will help us achieve our goals in PSL 10.”

The Qalandars, one of the most popular franchises in the PSL, have a strong track record in the league, including winning the championship in 2022 and 2023. With a roster that boasts a mix of experienced players and emerging talent, the team is well-positioned to compete for another title under Gough’s guidance.
