Here’s Pakistan Squad for PD Champions Trophy 2025

The Pakistan Physical Disability Cricket Association (PPDCA) has unveiled its 16-member squad for the Physical Disability Champions Trophy 2025, set to take place in Colombo, Sri Lanka, from January 12 to 21.

The announcement, made by PPDCA General Secretary Amiruddin Ansari, comes after approval from PPDCA President Imran Balwani.

The team’s opening match will be against arch-rivals India scheduled for January 12. The competition promises to be a thrilling encounter, as both teams look to assert their dominance in the tournament.

Leadership and Squad Composition

The squad will be led by Abdullah Ijaz, who has been appointed captain, with Ghulam Muhammad serving as his vice-captain. The team boasts a mix of experienced players and new talent, reflecting Pakistan’s growing strength in disability cricket.

PPDCA General Secretary Amiruddin Ansari highlighted the rigorous selection process, which saw the inclusion of nine new players alongside seven veterans from the 2019 Physical Disability Series. He noted that the selection process was challenging due to the remarkable performances of emerging players at the domestic level.

Rigorous Training and Fitness Camp

The final selection came after an intensive training and fitness camp, supervised by head coach Sabih Azhar, with support from the selection committee members Rafey Hashmi and Rao Javaid.
