Case Filed to Ban YouTube and TikTok Due to Family Vlogging Content

A petition has been filed in the Lahore High Court seeking an immediate ban on YouTube, Facebook, and TikTok.

The petition, submitted by citizen Aslam through Advocate Nadeem Sarwar, names the federal government and the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) as respondents.

According to the petition, a significant number of people in Pakistan operate YouTube channels, which are allegedly being used for blackmail and to gain views by uploading inappropriate content. It further claims that social media platforms allow videos to be uploaded without licensing, leading to the spread of fake videos on platforms like YouTube, Facebook, and TikTok.

The petition also alleges that YouTubers are showcasing women in their vlogs, which it argues is damaging the family structure.

The petitioner has requested the Lahore High Court to enforce the Citizen Protection Rules and issue an order to shut down all social media platforms in Pakistan.

  • Why stop at YouTube and TikTok? Let’s ban electricity—it powers these devices, after all.

  • He should stop using these Apps, or maybe he is not getting views and followers on Youtube and on Tiktok
