UFC Hall of Famer Khabib Nurmagomedov found himself at the center of an online storm after being removed from a Frontier Airlines flight following a heated dispute over his seating arrangement. The incident occurred at Harry Reid International Airport in Las Vegas while the former MMA champion was traveling with his associates.
Footage captured by fellow passengers has since gone viral, fueling widespread debate.
The altercation reportedly began when flight attendants questioned Khabib Nurmagomedov’s suitability to occupy a seat in the emergency exit row. According to aviation regulations, passengers in these seats must meet specific criteria and agree to assist in emergencies. In the viral video, a flight attendant can be heard addressing the 36-year-old:
We cannot allow you to sit in the exit row. I am not going to do this back and forth. I’ll go call a supervisor. You can either take a different seat, or we can escort you off the plane.
Despite Khabib insisting that he had been cleared to sit in the row and expressing his willingness to comply with safety protocols, the disagreement escalated. Eventually, the MMA icon was escorted off the flight.
In response to the controversy, Khabib issued a statement on his X (formerly Twitter) handle, expressing frustration over the treatment he received. He claimed that the flight attendant’s behavior was dismissive and questioned the motives behind his removal:
The incident has sparked mixed reactions online, with some fans rallying behind Khabib, citing alleged bias in how the situation was handled, while others have defended the airline’s strict adherence to safety policies. The video has drawn millions of views, with debates around customer service, discrimination, and celebrity treatment on flights gaining traction.
