Apple is preparing for significant updates to its SE lineup of affordable phones and wearables in 2025. As reported in Bloomberg’s newsletter, these advancements are expected to bring notable improvements to some of the company’s most popular devices.
Apple iPhone 16E: The Next iPhone SE
The next iPhone SE, rumored to be named the iPhone 16E, is anticipated to launch by April 2025. This device is expected to continue Apple’s approach of providing essential features in an affordable model but with a lot more upgrades over the last model.
Redesigned Apple Watch SE
Apple is also developing a refreshed Apple Watch SE, which could feature a plastic body to keep costs low. This change may allow for more color options, making the device more customizable. Additionally, the design might adopt elements from newer Apple Watch models, giving it a modern appearance compared to previous versions.
Updates to Apple Watch Series
The Apple Watch Series 11 and Ultra 3 are expected to retain their current designs, but the Ultra 3 may offer significant new features. These could include satellite connectivity, 5G RedCap support, and high blood pressure detection. While the blood pressure monitoring feature wouldn’t provide exact readings, it would notify users of potential hypertension.
The newsletter also highlighted upcoming updates across Apple’s ecosystem. These include an AI coaching service and a revamped health app to improve fitness and wellness tracking. Furthermore, new AirPods with built-in heart rate monitoring are expected, expanding the health-oriented functionality of Apple’s devices.
