Xiaomi is reportedly planning to launch the Mix Flip 2 earlier this year, thanks to the strong sales of its predecessor. According to Digital Chat Station, the new foldable will include key improvements like a bigger battery and a slimmer, lighter design.
Cameras
The Mix Flip 2 will still feature two cameras on the back. This time, Xiaomi will replace the telephoto lens with a 50 MP ultrawide camera using a smaller 1/2.76″ sensor. The main camera will also have a 50 MP resolution, but with a larger 1/1.5″ sensor for better performance. While these upgrades might improve image quality, some users may miss the flexibility of having a telephoto lens.
Upgraded Chipset and Display
Powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, the Mix Flip 2 will offer faster performance. The main foldable LTPO OLED screen will have a “1.5K” resolution and a size of 6.85 inches, delivering a better viewing experience. The large cover display will stay, and Xiaomi will include NFC and a side-mounted fingerprint sensor integrated into the power button.
New Features
Unlike the first Mix Flip, the Mix Flip 2 will come with an IPX8 water resistance rating, making it more durable against water exposure. Xiaomi will also add wireless charging, making it easier to charge without cables.
The Mix Flip 2 introduces meaningful upgrades like water resistance, wireless charging, and a refined design. However, sticking to two cameras might limit its appeal for those who prefer both ultrawide and telephoto lenses. Still, these changes should make the phone a promising option for foldable enthusiasts.
