Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) filling stations in Peshawar will remain closed until January 19 as part of measures to address the ongoing low gas pressure crisis.
This decision, announced by the Peshawar deputy commissioner, follows a notification from the Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL), prioritizing natural gas supply to households during the current cold wave.
The deputy commissioner emphasized that the intense winter weather has significantly increased gas demand, straining supply lines and causing low pressure in residential areas. This has created challenges for households relying on gas for heating and cooking.
Temporary closure of CNG stations has been deemed necessary to alleviate these issues. The move is expected to ensure that domestic consumers receive an adequate gas supply during this critical period. Authorities have assured residents that the decision will minimize disruptions and address their needs amid the harsh winter conditions.
