The London-based tech startup Nothing, renowned for its transparent phone designs and minimalist aesthetic, is reportedly seeking to raise $100 million in a new Series C funding round, according to Bloomberg. This comes long after the company successfully secured a similar amount in 2023.
With this funding, Nothing aims to strengthen its position in the global market and further its expansion plans.
Progress So Far
Since its inception, Nothing, co-founded by Carl Pei, a former co-founder of OnePlus, has quickly gained a reputation for innovation. The company’s smartphones, earbuds, and smartwatches have been well-received worldwide. India remains its largest smartphone market, followed by Germany and the UK. Meanwhile, in the audio segment, the US leads as its top market, with the UK, Germany, and Japan trailing.
In 2024, Nothing experienced remarkable growth, doubling its annual revenue to over $500 million. It also surpassed $1 billion in lifetime sales and sold over 7 million units across all categories.
Upcoming Products
Looking ahead, Nothing is preparing for the launch of its highly anticipated Phone (3). According to leaked information, this device will feature “breakthrough innovations in user interface” and will represent the company’s first step toward an AI-powered platform. This focus on integrating AI is expected to enhance the user experience significantly.
In Q1 2025, Nothing plans to unveil a “landmark smartphone.” While details remain under wraps, some speculate that this device might belong to Nothing’s sub-brand, CMF, which aligns with the company’s mission to deliver innovative yet accessible technology.
Expansion Plans
In addition to these product launches, Bloomberg reports that Nothing is prioritizing international growth outside the US for 2025. But at the same time, the company plans to intensify its push into the American market by 2026. Simultaneously, Nothing is exploring new product categories beyond its existing lineup of smartphones, earbuds, and smartwatches.
