Pakistan-West Indies: Toss Delayed as Fog Shrouds Multan

The two-match Test series between Pakistan and West Indies got off to a foggy start as dense weather conditions in Multan delayed the toss for the opening Test on Friday morning. The series opener faced an uncertainty as umpires postponed the coin toss, originally planned for 9:30 AM (PST), due to poor visibility caused by heavy fog.

Both teams come into this series with question marks surrounding their form. Pakistan is reeling from a 2-0 away defeat at the hands of South Africa, exposing vulnerabilities in its batting and bowling units. West Indies, meanwhile, managed a hard-fought 1-1 draw against Bangladesh in November but have struggled to find consistency in their performances.

Pakistan’s skipper Shan Masood will lead a team that blends experienced stalwarts like Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan with emerging talents such as Muhammad Huraira. The playing XI will feature the spin trio of Sajid Khan, Noman Ali, and Abrar Ahmed is expected to play a pivotal role on Multan’s turning track.

Led by Kraigg Brathwaite, the West Indies squad features a mix of promising newcomers and seasoned campaigners. Players like Jayden Seales and Kemar Roach will be key to their bowling attack, while captain Brathwaite and vice-captain Joshua Da Silva will handle the batting. The visitors have yet to announce their playing XI for the match officially.
