Pakistan Education Foundation Receives Over 20,000 Applications for School Outsourcing

The Punjab Education Foundation (PEF) is set to outsource approximately 4,445 public schools in the province as part of the second phase of its program.

Officials revealed that PEF received over 20,000 applications for the initiative, including around 9,000 submitted by individuals. However, the evaluation of these applications is still in progress due to the high volume.

PEF has assured that each application is being thoroughly reviewed on merit to ensure transparency.

Sources estimate that the scrutiny process will take another two to three weeks to complete. They expressed confidence that the review will be finalized by the first or second week of February 2025.

Once the process is complete, the schools and colleges included in the program will be handed over to non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and individuals who meet the required experience and merit criteria. This step is expected to take place before the start of the new academic year.
