Govt. Deploy Over 12,000 Police Personnel for Champions Trophy 2025

As Pakistan gears up to host the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, the Punjab Police have announced comprehensive security measures to ensure the safety of players, officials, and fans during the high-profile tournament.

The event, scheduled to run from February 19 to March 9, will feature 15 matches across three venues: Karachi, Lahore, and Rawalpindi, with Dubai hosting select matches, including the much-anticipated Pakistan-India clash.

Officials have confirmed that a total of 12,564 officers and personnel will be deployed to manage security during the tournament. Lahore will see the largest deployment, with 7,618 officers on duty, while 4,535 personnel will oversee security in Rawalpindi. Additionally, 411 officers from the Special Branch will be involved in enhancing security operations.

To further bolster safety, aerial monitoring will be conducted with the support of the Pakistan Army and Rangers, ensuring comprehensive surveillance of the venues and surrounding areas.

Police officials emphasized that all participating players will be treated as state guests, with their safety being the top priority. Routes to the venues will be closely monitored using Safe City cameras, providing real-time surveillance to prevent any untoward incidents.

The security arrangements are expected to be finalized in the coming days as authorities work tirelessly to prepare for the prestigious event.
