The Sindh government has ordered the installation of CCTV cameras in and around all government colleges in Karachi. This decision comes in response to growing security concerns, particularly regarding student and staff safety.
A directive issued by the Directorate of College Education Karachi Region instructed college principals to prioritize security measures. The circular emphasized the need for proactive steps to safeguard both the college premises and the well-being of those within.
The installation of CCTV cameras is seen as a crucial step towards enhancing security. These surveillance systems will not only monitor activities within and around the college grounds but also assist law enforcement agencies in investigations and incident analysis.
This move follows the recent blacklisting of 110 domestic helpers by Karachi police due to their criminal records. The police released a list containing photographs, contact information, and addresses of these individuals, urging residents to exercise caution when hiring domestic help.
Authorities highlighted the organized nature of criminal activities carried out by some domestic workers, emphasizing the importance of mandatory police verification before hiring.
