Samsung unveiled its Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25+, and Galaxy S25 Ultra just days ago at its grand Unpacked event, and today, one of its competitors, Honor, decided to respond with a playful jab. Although the reaction came later than expected, the company didn’t hold back, using humor and a clever video to poke fun at Samsung’s latest flagship series.
Honor’s response came via a post on X (formerly Twitter), showcasing a video implying that Samsung’s devices require numerous accessories to deliver a complete experience. The video features unboxing a series of accessories on a London street, accompanied by the caption:
No true companion is complete without these… or just use an HONOR Magic7 Pro.
The post suggests that, unlike Samsung’s flagship phones, the Honor Magic 7 Pro doesn’t need additional gadgets to deliver a top-tier experience.
A Mixed Reaction
While the effort to create a video instead of simply posting a few sharp words on social media deserves credit, the message itself has left some viewers puzzled. The implication that Samsung devices require extra accessories to perform well feels speculative, especially since the Galaxy S25 series isn’t even available in stores yet.
The video also contrasts starkly with Samsung’s global dominance in the smartphone market. With Samsung shipping many times more devices annually than Honor, the troll attempt risks appearing more like an attention grab than a well-substantiated critique.
The Bigger Picture
Honor’s playful jab comes amidst its challenges. The company has recently faced leadership changes and continues to trail behind Samsung in global sales. Whether this social media stunt helps Honor gain traction or simply serves as a fleeting moment of entertainment remains to be seen.
