AJK Govt to Launch Health Card Scheme for Free Medical Treatment

The Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) government has decided to introduce a health card program to provide free medical services to the public.

According to Express News, Prime Minister Chaudhry Anwar-ul-Haq chaired a cabinet meeting, after which Finance Minister Abdul Majeed Khan briefed the media.

He announced that the cabinet had approved the health card initiative, a loan scheme for skilled youth, and a 1 billion rupees fund for local government representatives.

Additionally, the government has formed a task force under IT Minister Zia Al-Qamar to address climate change challenges. The cabinet also approved a policy for contract employees in the higher education sector.

The finance minister stated that February 5 will be observed as Kashmir Solidarity Day in a significant way to express support for Kashmiris.

He further assured that legal action will be taken against those responsible for the attack on the Assembly Speaker. He also mentioned that the Bank of Azad Jammu and Kashmir is aligning its policies with the State Bank of Pakistan.

Moreover, the cabinet strongly condemned the Indian defense minister’s statement and pledged to respond firmly to any hostile actions against the Kashmir freedom movement.
