PCB to Launch Its Own OTT Streaming Platform

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is set to expand its digital footprint by launching a cutting-edge Over-the-Top (OTT) streaming platform, designed to revolutionize the way cricket content is consumed in Pakistan. The board has already issued a tender, inviting proposals from renowned international firms with proven expertise in developing and managing high-quality OTT solutions.

This step into the modern digital age signals PCB’s commitment to enhancing fan engagement by providing a scalable, robust, and user-friendly digital streaming service. PCB is confident that the state-of-the-art OTT streaming platform will offer advanced in-app features and services to ensure seamless cricket streaming, distribution, and monetization, catering to a global audience.

The PCB is specifically targeting firms with global experience in digital sports streaming, including collaborations with leading cricket organizations. This initiative aligns with the global trend of major sports bodies launching dedicated OTT services, allowing direct access to exclusive content.

The tender document, which outlines all relevant details, can be obtained free of cost during working hours (10:00 AM to 5:00 PM PST) until February 28, 2025. Interested firms must submit their applications by 11:00 AM PST on March 5, 2025, with the evaluation process beginning at 11:30 AM PST on the same day. Queries related to the tender document must be submitted in writing before the deadline, with only official responses deemed valid.

The rationale behind PCB’s aim to introduce its very own OTT streaming platform is simple: to establish full control over its digital content, reducing reliance on third-party streaming platforms. The upcoming OTT service is expected to bring live matches, highlights, behind-the-scenes footage, and exclusive cricket content directly to fans worldwide.
