Govt Officially Announces 5 February Holiday

The federal government has announced that February 5 will be observed as Kashmir Solidarity Day, with an official public holiday declared in recognition of the ongoing struggle of the Kashmiri people.

A notification issued by the government confirmed that the day will be marked with various events and activities to show support for Kashmir and its people.

The day will begin with a moment of silence at 10 AM, in honor of the Kashmiri martyrs who have sacrificed their lives for their cause. A one-minute silence will be observed across the country, urging the nation to stand united in solidarity with the people of Kashmir.
