Huawei is getting ready to launch the Mate XT worldwide after introducing it in China. This tri-fold smartphone, which offers a large, flexible display, is now one step closer to international markets.
Huawei Mate XT Gains UAE Certification
The Mate XT recently appeared in the UAE’s TDRA certification database under the model number GRL-LX9. While the listing does not confirm a launch date, it signals that the device is coming soon. Earlier reports from September 2024 suggested that Huawei planned to release the Mate XT globally in the first quarter of 2025. If this timeline holds, the phone could launch within the next two months.
Expected Features for the Global Version
Since Huawei has already launched the Mate XT in China, the global version will likely have the same features. The phone has a 6.4-inch OLED LTPO display that expands to 7.9 inches in dual-screen mode and reaches 10.2 inches when fully unfolded. The screen supports a 120Hz refresh rate, 440Hz high-frequency PWM dimming, and a 240Hz touch sampling rate.
Inside, the Mate XT runs on the Kirin 9010 chipset, with up to 16GB of RAM and 1TB of internal storage. A 5,600mAh battery powers the device, supporting 66W wired charging and 50W wireless charging.
The Mate XT has a triple-camera setup on the back. It includes a 50MP main sensor with an f/1.4~f/4.0 variable aperture and optical image stabilization (OIS), a 12MP ultra-wide lens, and a 12MP periscope telephoto lens for better zoom. On the front, there is an 8MP selfie camera.
What’s Next for Huawei’s Foldable Lineup?
With the Mate XT preparing for an international release, Huawei is expanding its presence in the foldable smartphone market. If the phone does well outside China, it could strengthen Huawei’s position against other brands in this growing segment. More details on pricing and availability should be announced soon.
