The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has decided to hire landscape experts to enhance the beauty of Islamabad. This decision was taken during the third board meeting, chaired by CDA Chairman Muhammad Ali Randhawa. The meeting focused on financial reforms, urban development, and key administrative matters.
To improve financial management, the board approved the appointment of a Director of Finance for CDA Hospital. It also decided to implement the SAP (Systems, Applications, and Products) accounting system to align CDA’s financial practices with the Government of Pakistan’s standards. Additionally, the board sanctioned a rate-running contract to ensure a steady supply of essential medical kits for the Health Services Wing.
The meeting also addressed asset management and revenue generation. The lease for a petrol pump in Sector F-6 was increased from PKR 292,000 per month to PKR 4.5 million per month, with an annual 10% increment. The CDA chairman directed officials to compile a complete database of all assets under the Administration Wing for better oversight and planning.
In a significant move, the board approved the recruitment of a Managing Director and three directors for the Islamabad Water Agency. It also decided to hire an urban developer and a carbon credit expert to strengthen environmental sustainability initiatives. Additionally, a proposal to establish a Carbon Credit Center at a nursery on Park Road was discussed.
The meeting also focused on employee financial matters, deciding to take action against deputation officers and employees who had taken house-building advances but failed to repay them. The Establishment Division will be requested to assist in the recovery process. Other key approvals included hiring a transaction advisor for the Green Frontier Data Center, approving e-payment gateways for the “My Islamabad” app, and securing consultancy services for the restoration of Parliament Lodges and Government Hostels.
