Government Ends Job Quota for Families of Deceased Employees

The federal government has withdrawn the policy of offering government jobs to a family member of employees who pass away during service under the Prime Minister’s Assistance Package.

According to an official memorandum issued by the Establishment Division, all ministries and divisions have been directed to implement this new decision.

The notification stated that the change was made in light of the Supreme Court’s ruling on October 18, 2024. The new policy will be effective from the date of the court’s verdict.

Despite this revision, civil servants will continue to receive other benefits and allowances provided under the PM Assistance Package in case of death during service.

The Establishment Division clarified that this decision does not apply to families of law enforcement personnel who are martyred in terrorism-related incidents. Additionally, appointments made before the Supreme Court’s decision will remain unaffected.
