Weather Department Announces Bad News for Karachi

Karachi is set to experience a temperature rise from midweek, with daytime highs reaching up to 32°C, according to the Pakistan Meteorological Department.

The Early Warning Centre reports that stronger sunshine will intensify the heat starting Wednesday. Minimum temperatures are forecasted to be 17°C on Wednesday and 18°C on Thursday. While the maximum temperature could surpass 32°C, cooler nighttime conditions are expected to persist.

Sea breezes are predicted to reactivate from tomorrow, potentially easing the rising temperatures. Meanwhile, foggy conditions may affect central and northern Sindh during the morning hours.

Elsewhere, Lahore and other parts of Punjab are experiencing cloud cover, with light rain expected in some areas due to the prevailing weather system. However, dry conditions will likely return by Wednesday as the system moves out. Lahore’s temperatures are expected to range between 9°C and 24°C.

Most regions of the country will experience cold and dry weather, but light rain, thunderstorms, and snowfall over hills are likely in parts of the Potohar Region, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan.

Morning temperatures recorded in major cities:

  • Islamabad & Lahore: 14°C
  • Karachi: 22°C
  • Peshawar: 12°C
  • Quetta: 6°C
  • Gilgit: 5°C
  • Murree: 2°C
  • Muzaffarabad: 9°C
