Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan presented Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and President Asif Ali Zardari with a model of Turkey’s locally manufactured electric vehicle, the Togg T10X, during his visit to Islamabad.
A video of the exchange shows Erdogan handing the sleek black SUV to Sharif, who then took the driver’s seat with the Turkish leader sitting beside him. The two leaders inspected the vehicle’s modern design before Sharif took it for a short drive.
While no official announcement has been made, the recent gift of the vehicle to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif hints at potential interest in bringing it to Pakistan.
The success of Togg T10X, if introduced would depend on affordability, government policies, and charging network expansion.
With incentives for EV manufacturing and charging infrastructure development, the market is gradually expanding so there’s potential for this SUV if it comes to Pakistan.
Togg T10X is available in single and dual-motor options. The single-motor model delivers 218 HP and 350 Nm torque while the dual-motor variant manages 436 HP and 700 Nm torque. Both variants can reach a top speed of 185 km/h. The single-motor model can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in as little as 7.4 seconds while the dual-motor model takes 4.8 seconds to reach 100 km/h.
The vehicle’s range varies between 314 km and 523 km, depending on the model, with an energy consumption rate of approximately 16.7 kWh/100 km.
