Pakistan Clinches Medal in Asian Junior Squash Championship

Pakistan’s junior squash team secured a bronze medal at the 22nd Asian Junior Squash Team Championships 2025 after a hard-fought campaign that ended with a loss to eventual champions South Korea in the semifinals.

The tournament, hosted at the Hong Kong Squash Centre, witnessed South Korea making history by winning their first-ever boys’ gold medal, while Hong Kong reclaimed the girls’ title with a dominant performance in the final.

Despite demonstrating resilience throughout the tournament, Pakistan’s journey concluded in the semifinals against a strong South Korean side. The eventual champions delivered clutch performances, securing their place in the final. Pakistan, however, rebounded to claim third place, adding another bronze medal to their tally in the prestigious Asian Junior Squash Championship.

South Korea’s historic triumph in the final against Malaysia featured standout performances from Jooyoung Na and Yoo Jeong-uk, who battled through grueling matches to bring their country its first Asian Junior Team Championship title.

Meanwhile, Hong Kong’s girls’ team dominated Malaysia in the final, reclaiming the title they last won in 2011. Kwong Ena and Cheung Tsz Ching led the charge with straight-set victories, clinching gold on home soil.

While Pakistan fell short of reaching the final, their bronze medal finish reaffirms their status as a competitive force in Asian junior squash. With a talented squad and promising young players, the team will aim to build on this result in future championships.
