International Coal Prices Drop to One-year Low

International coal prices have dropped to their one-year low, according to Bloomberg data.

International coal prices (Richards Bay) have dropped to USD 94.75/ton, marking the lowest level since 23 February 2024, when they were at $92.30/ton.

According to Arif Habib Limited, for every $5/ton decrease, the cost of cement production will drop by Rs. 10/bag.

This decrease in coal prices will benefit South-based companies such as Lucky Cement Limited (PSX: LUCK), D.G. Khan Cement Company Limited (PSX: DGKC), Power Cement Limited (PSX: POWER), and Attock Cement Pakistan Limited (PSX: ACPL).
