Two Pakistani students, Yousaf Khan and Muhammad Rafeeullah Jawaad, from Gannan Medical University in China, have been praised for their bravery and compassion in saving an elderly man’s life after a sudden medical emergency at a Shanghai railway station.
According to a report by China Economic Net, the incident occurred in the early hours of February 7 at Shanghai Songjiang Railway Station. While visiting Shanghai, Yousaf and Jawaad noticed an elderly man lying unconscious on the ground.
Recognizing the critical situation, they immediately rushed to help. Upon examination, they found the man unresponsive, with no breathing, a weak pulse, and cyanotic lips—signs of a severe medical crisis.
After administering four rounds of CPR, the elderly man gradually regained consciousness and began breathing again. The students stayed by his side, ensuring his stability until paramedics arrived and transported him to the hospital for further treatment.
