Indian Legend Picks This Player As Poster Boy of Pakistan Cricket

Indian cricketing legend Ravichandran Ashwin has heaped praise on Pakistan’s middle-order batter Agha Salman, endorsing him to become a bigger star than his contemporaries in the coming years. Ashwin made his comments while discussing Pakistan’s upcoming Champions Trophy campaign, drawing attention to Agha Salman’s ability to handle pressure and his commanding presence at the crease.

Ashwin, known for his deep cricketing insights, believes Salman has the potential to surpass some of Pakistan’s top batters, including Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan. In a rare endorsement from an Indian cricket stalwart, Ashwin lauded Agha Salman’s temperament and technique, emphasizing that he brings a rare sense of assurance to Pakistan’s batting lineup.

“Agha Salman has the quality to handle pressure situations. After a long time, I’m seeing a Pakistani player at the crease with real presence,” Ashwin remarked. The spin maestro also advised Salman to carve out his own path, saying, “I really hope he doesn’t go down the route of some other players. He can even surpass Rizwan and Babar,” Ashwin added.

Ravichandran Ashwin’s endorsement of Agha Salman is not without merit. After a somewhat decent but not stellar start to his international career, Salman seems to have finally found his niche in Pakistan’s team in ODIs and Tests. Often tasked with batting his side out of trouble, the 31-year-old has mastered the art of building his innings and accelerating when needed. His more-than-capable off-spin bowling also allows Pakistan to play an extra batter in the team to good effect.

If his recent performance against South Africa is any indication, the ODI team’s vice-captain has a bright future ahead.

With Ravichandran Ashwin’s endorsement adding to the growing recognition of his talent, all eyes will be on Agha Salman as he looks to live up to expectations and cement his place as a cornerstone of Pakistan’s batting lineup. The 2025 Champions Trophy will serve as the perfect test of his skills.
